Product Software Engineer

Role Description

This is a hands-on technical leadership role for an experienced engineer who enjoys building products from the ground up.

You will work closely with the CTO to design, build, and scale an AI-native software platform. This role combines hands-on software engineering with technical collaboration, product implementation, and engineering excellence.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, writing high-quality code, making thoughtful engineering decisions, and helping establish the foundation for a growing engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the CTO to design and implement scalable platform capabilities.
• Develop backend services, APIs, and core application features.
• Build production-ready features across multiple products and services.
• Contribute to architectural decisions that support scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable production code.
• Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Improve performance, security, observability, and reliability.
• Evaluate AI technologies, SDKs, APIs, and third-party integrations.
• Document architecture, implementation decisions, and technical processes.

Technical Requirements

• Strong experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Experience with Node.js, React, and Next.js.
• PostgreSQL or other relational database experience.
• Experience building REST APIs and authentication/authorization flows.
• Cloud platform experience, AWS preferred.
• Git, GitHub, CI/CD, and modern development workflows.
• Docker and containerized development.
• Event-driven systems, microservices, and API-first design.
• Experience integrating AI platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar LLM providers.
• Supabase, vector databases, RAG, or AI agent frameworks are a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience building software products from concept through production.
• Strong backend engineering and system design skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Startup or early-stage company experience is highly desirable.
